Ms. Seldon

Chief Executive Officer and Lead on Human Resources and Business Management

Seldon has an international Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, Deventer, the Netherlands, and a Bachelors in Arts (English Hons) from Delhi University through Sherubtse College, Bhutan. She is very much interested in the training, travel, and tourism industry with experiences of travel in Europe (the Netherlands, where she got the MBA), France, Belgium, and other regional travels to Singapore, Thailand, India, and Nepal.

She has worked for the national newspaper company- Kuensel, as the Human Resource Officer for the last 11 years. The main tasks were recruitment, training needs analysis, performance evaluation, and HR development. Besides other things, she led the development of the Kuensel Service Rule and Pay fixation system for the company.

Seldon is a full-time consultant working on the arrangement of training, education, Human Resource Management, Development, and Marketing Chief.

Mrs Sonam Pem

Climate, Water Resources and Wash

Sonam has more than 17 years of total professional experience. She worked as a civil servant in a government agency for 13 years. From 2018 to date, she works as a consultant. She has three master certificates in International Land and Water Management, Sustainable Agricultural Development, and Water Resource Management. She is well versed in research and reporting writing. Sonam is capable of working due to her excellent academic skills, expereince working in remote locations across bhutan and great interpersonal skills. Some of the projects Sonam has done are related to the environment, social, water, agriculture and climate change.

Ms Ugyen Dema

Environmental Officer

Ugyen Dema graduated from Sherubtse College with B.Sc. (Hons.) Environmental Science. She works on Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Change, Waste and Water Resources Projects. She is trained in skills such as GIS, technical report writing, and waste management. She joined the team in June 2021.

Ms. Kritika Neopaney

Environmental Specialist

Kritika has over 11 years of working experience in three different companies in Bhutan working in the field of Power Generation, Distribution, and Infrastructure Development. Until recently, she headed the Environmental Division of the Construction Development Corporation Ltd. being responsible for all environmental-related functions of the company including carrying out environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies. Notable EIA studies were those of the Bhutan Education City Project, the development of two industrial estates in southern Bhutan, and the upcoming Amochhu Land Development & Township Project (ALDTP) at Phuentsholing. The ALDTP project, a US$ 25 million project being funded by the ADB conforms to its robust safeguard policies.

With a Masters in Energy and Environmental Management from the University of Flensburg, Germany, and BE. Electrical Engineering from SVNIT, India, and diverse power sector and EIA experiences, she is confident to be able to carry out EIA studies of any type of project including those of hydropower.

Mr. Jas Bdr Basnet

Survey, GIS, and Hydropower Field Assessment

Mr. Basnet resigned in 2014 as Executive Engineer for the Department of Hydropower and Power Systems of Bhutan. He has over 30 years of experience in Hydropower Planning, Surveying, and Hydro-Meteorological data collection in Bhutan. Mr. Basnet has managed site assessment expeditions in all parts of the country for hydropower planning and development. Sites range from 5000masl Lingshi to 1200MW Punatsangchhu Hydropower Project sites. He is fully acquainted with all hydropower plans and sites across the country. He has also worked on DPR Projects of Various Hydropower Projects in the country as Project Manager, Engineer, and site supervisor.

He has a certificate in hydrology from NOAA, National Weather Services, Kansas, USA, and Diploma in Hydropower and Hydro-Meteorology from ICH Norway and Nepal.

Ms. Leki Wangmo Dorji

Ms. Leki Wangmo Dorji

Assistant Environment Officer

Leki is a graduate from Royal Thimphu College, Bhutan with BSc in Environment Management. She works on project investigations, surveys, reviews, and supports the team on environmental decisions and analysis. Leki is trained in Environment Impact Assessment, Waste Management, GIS, and Data Analysis. She joined us in 2019 right after her graduation. Currently Leki is on study leave to Australia for MSc in Envionment Management

Dr. Karma Lhendup

Statistics, Economics & Development Expert

Karma Lhendup did his bachelor's degree in B.Sc. Statistics (PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, India), M.A Development Economics (National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan), and Ph.D. in Economics (North-Eastern Hill University, India). He has eighteen years of professional experience whereby he served for various posts in government agencies and Sr. Lecturer in Norbuling Rigter College. He has published numerous research and reports. Mr. Karma is also well versed in SPSS, Stata etc. He has worked on many socio-economic, statistics and climate-related projects for various agencies in Bhutan.

Mrs. Manju Giri

Social, Environment and Gender Development Expert

Manju has over thirteen years of experience in the formulation and implementation of gender, environmental, and Social related projects. She also has experience in conducting the participatory assessment, analysis and monitoring, and evaluation of community-based projects and programs. She also has experience in project management, resource mobilization, partnership building, facilitation of training workshops, proposal writing, and documentation of lessons learned. Manju has worked with the government, donors, NGOs, and community-based organizations. She has recently completed Gender, Social, Environment, and Education projects for the ADB in Bhutan and also is a trained Social Safeguards Expert in Bhutan.

With a Masters in Science in Gender and Development Studies from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand; Masters of Science in Sustainable Development from Sikkim Manipal University, India, and a Bachelors of Geography/Humanities she is capable of conducting a wholesome social and environmental impact assessment of development in Bhutan, including that of Hydropower with confidence.

Mr. Kapil Pradhan

Water Resources, Urban Environment and IWRM

Kapil Pradhan has a Master of Science degree in Municipal Water and Infrastructure from UNESCO-IHE, The Netherlands, and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Nagpur University, India. He has worked for the Royal Government of Bhutan in various capacities and also worked for UNOPS in Afghanistan with a total working experience of more than 14 years.

As a consultant, he has undertaken works for the Asian Development Bank and the Royal Government of Bhutan in the field of Water Supply, Sanitation, and Urban Environment. He is currently working as a Water Security Specialist for an ADB project in Bhutan looking at Integrated Water Resources Management for Mountainous Regions.

Mr. Sangay Tshering Dendup

Environment Officer and Researcher

Sangay from Shokshi Pangthang village, Wangphu geog, Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan works as a Research Officer – Environment and Science. He has Bachelors in Science - Life Science from Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan. He currently assists on various projects for CDC including planning, organizing, and implementation of training besides working on documents. His main responsibility involves working in Environmental Surveys, Analysis, logistics, making sure that surveys, assessments and follow-ups are done. He is also highly talented in public presentations and marketing. Sangay was with the firm from August 2016 in the post of Assistant Environmental Officer. Since Feb 2020 Sangay has been on study leave to Australia to pursue a Masters in Environment Science

Ms. Tshering Zangmo

Field Survey, Renewable Energy and Electrical Engineering

Tshering has M.Tech in Power Systems from Bhagwant University, Ajmer, India, and a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, College of Science and Technology, Bhutan. She has very good computer skills and had been working on various projects in Bhutan including Survey, Analysis, and Design of an off-grid Rural Electrification Project for the Department of Renewable Energy as a consultant. His goal is to work in a challenging atmosphere and put her potential to the best use of fulfilling the organization's goal & learning maximum in the process through consistent hard work & determination retaining normal human values.

Mr. Chhimi Dorji

Energy, Environment and Water Resources

Chhimi holds an MSc in Environmental Systems – Energy, Environment and Society, from, California State University, Humboldt in the USA. He also holds a First class Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) in India, and completed a postgraduate course in Energy Planning and Sustainable Development at the University of Oslo, Norway in 2008.

Chhimi’s recent work includes working for the Asian Development Bank as a Hydrology, Hydraulics and Modelling Expert working on various Integrated Water Resources, Urban and Transport projects; UNDP Bhutan as Hydrology expert and Deputy Team Leader on a Climate Resilience project; Austrian Development Agency as a Hydrology Expert on the Environmental Flow Assessment for Hydropower Projects in Bhutan; Druk Green Power Corporation for the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of the Nyera Amari I&II Hydropower Project, Hydrology and E-Flow component; and, Government of Bhutan as Hydrology, Hydro-Met Engineer, Water Resources and Modelling Expert on Urban Planning and Hydropower. Chhimi has also consulted for IFAD, WMO, World Bank and WWF Bhutan on various Environmental Projects. A He has also worked for 10 years as a hydrology/water resources engineer for the National Centre for Hydrology and Meteorology of Bhutan and the erstwhile Department of Energy (now also Department of Hydropower and Power Systems) of Bhutan.

Mr. Hari Kumar Suberi

Sustainable Development, Materials Flow, Renewable Energy

Hari has a Masters in Engineering from Trier University of Applied Sciences, Germany in Materials Flow Management, and a Masters in Science in Renewable Energy from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific (APU) University, Japan. He also has a Bachelors's in Electrical Engineering from the College of science and technology, Royal University of Bhutan.

Hari Kumar Suberi is a national consultant currently working as a researcher in areas of sustainable development. His focus areas are green fuel for transport energy demand. He was a consultant for a rural electrification project for the Department of Renewable Energy (DRE), Bhutan. He also worked as an international consultant in Germany to develop a circular economy concept design for developing countries. The first project concept of circular economy is showcased in Germany at the zero-emission campus where energy plus building design and integration of regional biomass potentials as the practice-oriented educational institute is established at UCB. Following the idea of zero-emission campus design a detailed material flow analysis is conducted in Sri Lanka where Hari was a technical advisor to implement strategies for establishing the zero-emission university.

Mr. Sherab Dorji

Electrical Project Engineer, Hydropower Projects

Sherab has a Master's Degree in Electrical Power Systems from Edith Cowan University in Australia. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) in India. He has more than 10 years of rich working experience with two major hydropower projects in Bhutan. As an Electrical Project Engineer with the 1020MW Tala hydroelectric project for five years, he has handled the execution of electrical work packages starting from engineering design, cost estimation, and technical specification for work scope. He has completed and commissioned electrical works within stipulated time and budget while delivering projects with desired quality. He also has experience in the review of environmental and social impacts to the local communities and ecosystem from the project.

His recent work includes working for the 1200MW Punatsangchhu hydroelectric project, providing reliable power supply to various work fronts with the construction of permanent distribution substations and transmission lines. The routing of overhead transmission lines and finalization of substation locations were decided in consultation with local communities. Completion of site assembly and high voltage testing of two numbers each of rotors and stators for 200MW generator was a major achievement. As a construction engineer, strict implementation of occupational health and safety policies and procedures at the work sites has been his topmost priority. His expertise and experience have been valuable assets and inputs to delivering consultancy services in the field of social and environmental impact assessment for the formulation of detailed hydropower project reports in Bhutan.

Mr. Robert Dillman

Environmental Specialist and Social Entrepreneur, Business Analysis and Project Development

Robert has more than 20 years of work experience working in the Environment, Energy, and Economics in the USA, Mexico, and Guatemala. He has also traveled and lived to more than 20 countries including Tibet/China, Nepal, and India teaching English and helping groups and individuals develop business ideas and their execution. Bob is a high-energy, team-oriented individual with a high degree of integrity, strong communication skills, and bridge-building capabilities. He also has vast experience and success in various business, academic, and cultural environments. Bob also possesses an intense desire for social justice, environmental sustainability, and economic equality.

He has a Masters in Environmental Systems (Energy, Environment and Society) from Humboldt State University, California, USA; California State University Chico- Teaching Credential; and Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, the USA with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance.

Mr Sarbajit Rai

Civil engineer

Sarbajit Rai has a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Anna University (India, Tamil Nadu). He is working as a civil engineer where he works on Engineering, Waste, Climate Change Adapation, Hydrology, Hydraulics, Water Supply, Estimation, Landfills,etc. He is also well-skilled in using engineering software such as AutoCAD, STAAD.pro, SketchUp pro, and water gems. In addition, he has practical experience in field surveys which is crucial before determining the E-flow (Environmental flow) of any power plant.

Mr. Ngawang Choeda

Energy, Policy Analysis and Project Management

Ngawang has over a decade of experience in the Energy Sector managing energy policies, regulations, feasibility studies, and development projects.

Ngawang was a Project Manager with the Department of Hydropower and Power Systems and Department of Energy where he worked on many Energy projects (Hydropower and Solar). It involved providing advice including resource assessment, technology evaluation and selection, project conception, project design, project approvals, and project delivery. His knowledge and experience extend to climate change, energy security, cost-benefit analysis, and sustainable development. In addition, he had the responsibilities of liaising with international organizations for developing new business opportunities and sourcing investments for energy projects.

Ngawang has a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (1st Class) from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, India, and a Masters of Engineering and Technology Management from Portland State University, USA.
